A friend of my sister in law suggested a series of books to me at my birthday party this year. I purchased 2 of the 4 after I dropped Robin off at camp. I proceeded to read the two books in 3 days and went out to buy the third and fourth. I have now completed the third book and as I finished it I really wanted to throw it across the room...or at least put it in the freezer like Joey in that episode of Friends. I hate it when a book turns out so wrong...or a least wrong in my opinion. I am fully invested in the characters and I feel the need to read the fourth book but I am pissed! It's a little like when I finished the third book in the Harry Potter series...I vowed I would never read another word. Of course I finished the series hoping the situation created in the third book would somehow be resolved...it wasn't...damnit! I spent the entire day today in my pj's reading...I had so many other productive things I could have been doing but I read instead. I took a day for myself and did something I almost NEVER get to do. I am refreshed and actually ready to start the work needed in my classroom. It is amazing to me how one day of doing exactly what you want to do and none of the things you need to do can revitalize you entire being and leave you ready for any new challenges.Thursday, August 14, 2008
Infuriating Books
